First pictures from my apartment window

It's hard to describe the feeling of holding your love in your hands. When I say love, I mean my new Nikon D40 (for now).

I'll give it a shot here - when you hold it, you feel pride .. pride because you own it and that (as if) it was made just for you! Like you got all that you wanted all this while .. so desperately?!? - maybe. The touch of it has adrenaline rushing through your veins. The excitement? - you feel like you are on cloud 9. You look into their eyes (i means lens) and you see the whole world! Does any of this sound familiar to you? Oh! and should I say nervous, cautious tooo ?!? That's when the thought of losing it or having it go out of your sight comes to your mind ...

So here I am, with my new love - Nikon D40. Day1, Saturday 2/16/2008 was a bright and sunny day though very cold. I attached the 50-200mm lens and thought would take some shots from the window of my apartment.

This first picture I took was using the 55-200mm lens at f=175mm. The Bushnell state capitol buiilding. The other images I too seem a little overexposed and so i thought - lets play a little with the P mode and set an EV (exposure compensation) value.

This next picture is a shot with -0.3EV. Can you see a softer blue? Now that's the effect of the exposure setting ....
