Recent model shoot ... in pictures

Theme: Corporate presentation

After I re-branded my website, I did a shoot over the weekend for a model friend of mine who's also a fashion blogger. While it was an interesting shoot, I felt that the location we chose wasn't great and did not quite match the theme.

To start with it was supposed to be a fashion shoot on the streets of UB City starting at 7 AM on a rather cold Saturday morning. I must say that I'm really committed to my passion and I woke up at 5 in the morning hoping "she" would make it by 7 at the location.

The idea of an early morning shoot was hers and I agreed as otherwise the streets in the vicinity of UB City would be really crowded. Unfortunately .. not everyone's as committed as I am .. I guess ;o). So having "possibly" partied until late in the night on Friday, she overslept on Saturday and didn't respond to my messages until 11 in the morning.

Plans changed now and the new commitment was to meet at 2 - wasn't quite met this time again as she was late by 40 mins. I hate making others wait for me and same are my expectations from others as well. Keeping expectations isn't good all the time and i was almost getting pi**ed off sitting there all by myself.

Oh, by the way, the new location was "Leela Palace". Finally she called to let me know she had arrived and lo! we had a good fight before I could even pull my camera out. Anyway, we started at around 3 PM and the surroundings inside Leela were lush green. She donned an attire fit for the corporate world. Well .. I peeped in her mind and understood that she wanted to present a perfect corporate look. After a couple of shots, the first feeling I had was that the surroundings didn't quite match the "corporate" theme.

However, in a couple of hours of work, I managed to pull some good shots. So here are some of the pictures from that shoot. Hope you like 'em. Feel free to leave your comments and visit my website www.lightnlens.com

The art, the artists and the artist capturing both ..

Been more than a year since my last post on my very own blog; and a lot has happened in the past year and I wont go in a chronological order - just because the things that have happened more recently are the most fresh ones in my mind.

Here's the trip I had with shootbob (www.shootbob.com) to see the art and meet the artists of Shivarapatna village (Coordinates: 13°3'46"N   77°59'31"E). Call this place "god's own village" (not country mind it!). Want to thank you bob for this wonderful insightful trip ;)

The villagers here are artists - sculptors to be technically precise. Every house in this village is into "the craft of stone carved sculptures and idols". These artists put in months of hard work to create or rather re-create a sculpture/idol of god which eventually makes it to one of the temples of namma Bengaluru.

Some lines as a sweet remembrance of this place -

The artist puts in
months of hard work and perseverance
along with knowledge and tools
using skills learnt from ancestors passed over multiple generations
to re-create "the creator", the almighty!

Some pictures in monochrome to bring the memories back to life!

Using power tools to re-create the creator - the most powerful of all

A celebration called life!

Starting at a tender age, working through years to become the master of the craft!

Hard work and dedication!

Abstract is the only word to describe this ..

Playing hide and seek!

Signing off!
